University of Wisconsin senior golfer Dan Woltman has been named to the Division I Ping All-Midwest regional team, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Tuesday.
It is the third consecutive year Woltman has been named to the All-Midwest squad, and it caps off an impressive career at the UW. This season, he nearly qualified for a third-straight NCAA championship appearance, finishing just one stroke short.
Woltman led the Badgers throughout the season, pacing the squad in seven of its 11 tournaments. He recorded five top-10 finishes, including four of the last five tournaments in which he played. His best finish came when he tied for first at the Boilermaker Invitational in April. His scoring average of 72.68 was a Badger single-season record, as is his 73.26 career scoring average.
After transferring from the University of Kentucky following his freshman year, Woltman quickly showed off his skills as he won the VCU/Mattaponi Springs Shootout in just his third start for Wisconsin. Woltman led the team in scoring in each of his three years, while also winning three tournaments over that time span and posting 14 top-10 finishes.
