FEATURED COURSE
Trappers Turn GC in Wisconsin Dells

Trappers Turn GC in Wisconsin Dells has earned a reputation as one of central Wisconsin’s finest golf facilities since it first opened as an 18-hole course in 1991. That reputation was solidified with a third nine, called the Arbor Nine, which opened for play in 2000.

But the buzz this spring at Trappers Turn has nothing to do with the golf course. No, the big news is a new and improved clubhouse and a brand new emphasis on golf instruction.

The clubhouse will about double in size, which means the dining room, bar and golf shop will be bigger while also offering some new amenities. The dinning room, which used to seat 60 people, will now have room for 250, and a new focus on fine dining will follow. The bar, featuring less than 10 stools in the old days, will now seat about 35, and it has also been flipped around so it looks out past the veranda to the golf course.

Another new offering for 2008 is the Kalahari Golf Academy at Trappers Turn, offering a range of instructional programs and camps. Trappers Turn was purchased by Kalahari Resorts in 2006.

The original 18 at Trappers Turn now makes up the Lake and Canyon nines. Some new tees have also been added recently. All three nines were designed by Andy North and Roger Packard, and the fairways flow nicely over the varied terrain for which Wisconsin Dells is famous. There is great variety among the holes here.
