WSGA PATER-FILIUS CHAMPIONSHIP
A father-son pair from Pine Hills CC in Sheboygan are the 2009 winners of the Wisconsin State Golf Association Pater-Filius Championship.
Peter Swanson, 55, and his son Kevin, 21, won the annual father-son tournament in a playoff over three other teams. They shot 1-over-par 73 in the alternate-shot event. Tying for second were Tim and Kyle Murphy of Eau Claire G&CC in Altoona, Brian and Michael Murphy of Maple Bluff CC in Madison, and Christopher and Drew Hurley of Odana Hills GC in Madison.
In the net division, Bruce Duerr of Racine CC and Joseph Duerr of Whitnall Park GC in Hales Corners took first place with a 66. Glen and Gregg Jaeger of Currie Park GC in Wauwatosa finished second at 67.
The event was held at The Golf Courses of Lawsonia in Green Lake.
Last year’s champions, Gary and Brian Menzel of The Bog in Saukville, did not play.
