WSGA JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
Mike Sorenson of Hartland continued what he started on Wednesday and blew away the field at the Wisconsin State Golf Association Junior Championship sponsored by Culver’s. The tournament was played at The Bog in Saukville.
Sorenson, 18, opened the tournament Monday with a 7-under-par 65, then shot 68 yesterday to take an eight-stroke lead into the final round. He closed with 71 Wednesday to finish at 204 win by 10 strokes over Andrew Steinhofer of Madison. Steinhofer shot 74-70-70–214. Finishing third was Sam Frank of Oconomowoc, who shot 74-71-70–215.
Defending champion Cody Strang of Madison finished in a three-way tie for fifth place with scores of 72-69-78–219.
