Thanks to Nike Golf’s concentrated efforts to work with its athletes on the PGA Tour with the goal of taking that inspiration and delivering innovative technology to amateur golfers, consumers now can take a leaf out of a tour player’s book in how they choose their golf ball to suit their games.
With the introduction of the new Nike ONE Tour, Nike ONE Tour D and Nike ONE Vapor to the winning Nike ONE ball franchise, tour level and highly skilled players will now have the option of three distinct levels of performance, combining varying combinations of launch conditions, spin and feel, while offering distance and control. Rock Ishii, Nike’s product development director of golf balls, and his team of engineers work closely with Nike PGA Tour athletes to ensure that each athlete is dialed into the right golf ball based on his launch conditions. With these three new introductions, Nike Golf is bringing this same philosophy to the amateur golfer. “The development process for each of these balls was inspired by the testing we conducted with our Nike athletes on the PGA Tour as well as the comprehensive testing we executed with consumers,” Ishii said. “We explored various levels of head speeds and launch conditions. We listened to our athletes. We listened to our consumers. The result has been what I think is the most powerful Nike ONE Ball Series we’ve ever created.” Nike ONE Tour Aimed at highly skilled players seeking ultimate tour performance, the Nike ONE Tour ball features a four-piece seamless urethane construction and is designed for those individuals who have swing speeds in excess of 90 mph. Featuring a newly reformulated core and cover, the Nike ONE Tour has further reduced driver spin and optimized flight trajectory, improving overall distance performance. Nike athletes Stephen Ames, K.J. Choi, Trevor Immelman, Anthony Kim and Justin Leonard currently are playing with the new Nike ONE Tour ball. Nike ONE Tour D Delivering maximum distance with tour standard quality levels of spin and control, the Nike ONE Tour D is designed to optimize distance performance for players who have swing speeds in excess of 90 mph. The Nike ONE Tour D offers tour-level performance in a three-piece seamless urethane construction. Nike athletes Stewart Cink and Lucas Glover currently are playing with the new Nike ONE Tour D ball. Nike ONE Vapor Engineered to offer advanced speed and control, the Nike ONE Vapor combines Nike’s Power Transfer Layer with a soft compression to deliver the benefits of a tour-level ball with added length, feel and durability. Aimed at golfers who have swing speeds in excess of 80 mph, the Nike ONE Vapor provides the perfect balance of distance and control.
