FEATURED COURSE
Nestled 30 miles from St. Paul in northwest Wisconsin, New Richmond GC has hosted several Wisconsin State Golf Association State Amateur qualifying events, as well as the 2004 WSGA Junior Championship.
The championship course, measuring 6,713 yards, is laid out on 173 acres and offers a variety of landscape. The track had a checkered past prior to a major upgrade in the 1980s under the direction of Don Herfort that saw New Richmond expand into a modern, 18-hole course.
Today’s New Richmond is one of western Wisconsin’s favorites, in part because it always seems to be in great shape. There are several narrow, tree-lined fairways to keep players honest, and water is in play on six holes on the front nine.
New Richmond also has a popular nine-hole course – opened in 1998 – that can be played in either direction, and it has its own clubhouse. The direction of play is rotated often on the generally circular course.
