Laser Link Golf's latest distance-measurement system, CartLink, is set to debut this spring. CartLink is the newest way for the golf course manager to deliver the best in distance-measurement technology to players. The system consists of three
main parts: Laser Link's best-selling QuickShot rangefinder, a
waterproof case with retractable security cord and a mounting system
that allows the unit to be easily attached to each golf car in a fleet.
Put all three together and you have a product that will provide three
things that golfers at any level are sure to enjoy – convenience,
faster rounds and better scores.
A prototype of the CartLink was
available for viewing at the 2009 PGA Show in Orlando and at the 2009
Golf Industry Show in New Orleans. The finished product is scheduled
for release this spring, and orders are now being taken for the summer
golf season.
"The response to the product at the PGA Show was phenomenal," said
Wayne Timberman, vice president of Laser Link Golf. "The CartLink
really is a great way for a club to not only add a new amenity, but to
increase revenue. It truly will pay for itself in a very short period
of time."
So far, the golf industry is seeing CartLink as a perfect
alternative to GPS. Many clubs have been looking for another choice
because of the drawbacks of a typical GPS unit – poor accuracy, high
cost and the inability to measure distances to the flagstick. CartLink is
affordable, accurate and provides precise distance to the flagstick,
all in a small but powerful package.
