MONDAY ROUND-UP
If Skip Kendall could consistently play like he did on Saturday, he might have a few more top-10 finishes under his belt on the Nationwide Tour this year. The Wisconsin native, who shared the low round of the day Saturday with Blake Adams, hit 13 of 14 fairways, 14 of 18 greens and had 28 putts to be bogey-free in his 13th round in the 60s this year.
Those fine statistics helped propel Kendall to a tie for third place Sunday at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Invitational on the Ohio State University Scarlet Course. He finished at 3-under-par 281 with scores of 72-72-66-71 and earned $39,000.
Bill Lunde won his first Nationwide event, finishing at 5-under-par 279 (67-72-67-73). He earned $135,000 and, most likely, a 2009 PGA Tour card. Middleton's Jon Turcott tied for 45th at 4-over-par 288 (74-69-76-69).
On the PGA Tour, Chez Reavie got his first victory Sunday at the RBC Canadian Open. He finished at 17-under 267 (65-64-68-70) and earned $900,000.
Wisconsin native Mark Wilson finished in a tie for 22nd place at 7-under 277 (71-69-69-68) and earned $46,416.67. Madison’s Jerry Kelly tied for 37th at 4-under 280 (67-67-71-72), and Appleton native J.P. Hayes tied for 44th at 3-under 281 (67-73-70-71).
