On the Nationwide Tour, Wisconsin native Skip Kendall tied for 11th at the Chattanooga Classic Presented by Black Creek.
Kendall,
who has struggled this year after nearly earning his PGA Tour card in
2007, shot rounds of 63-67-72-71 to finish at 15-under 273. Kendall has
earned $135,902 this season.
Arjun Atwal (66-60-66-72) beat
out Webb Simpson (61-64-70-69) by making birdie on the first playoff
hole Sunday. Atwal and Simpson both finished at 24-under 264, two shots
shy of the tournament record.
Middleton native Jon Turcott failed to make the cut.
Marc Turnesa on Sunday became the fourth rookie to win on the PGA Tour this season. He did so by holding off Matt Kuchar by one stroke at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas.
Turnesa shot rounds of 62-64-69-68 at TPC Summerlin on his way to a tournament-record 24-under-par score. He earned $738,000 and jumped from 138th to 75th on the money list.
Pewaukee native Mark Wilson tied for 24th at 17-under 271 (70-65-69-67) in the Fall Series event. Wilson twice made eagle – in rounds two and five – on the par-5 492-yard third hole, and he made birdie during rounds one and three. He earned $29,058.75 for his finish.
Madison’s Jerry Kelly failed to make the cut.
