WPGA JUNIOR TOUR
Gerry gets the win at Lake Arrowhead

Jessica Gerry was the winner of the girls division at the Wisconsin PGA Lake Arrowhead Invitational on Thursday. Gerry, Madison, shot 77-78–155 on her way to a two-stroke victory over McKenzie Holthaus of Onalaska (76-81–157).

Allyssa Ferrell of Edgerton and Katie Tabbert of Onalaska tied for third at 15-over 159 in the invitation-only event held in Nekoosa. Kelly Coakley of Brookfield rounded out the top-five, finishing at 18-over 162 (84-78).

In the boys division, David Walter of Eau Claire won with an even-par 144 (73-71). Mark Wittchow of Onalaska and Andrew Steinhofer of Madison tied for second at 1-over 155, and recent Wisconsin State Golf Association junior boys champion Cody Strang was fourth at 2-over 146 (74-72). Rounding out the top-five was Oconomowoc’s Sam Frank, who finished at 3-over 147 (76-71).

The Lake Arrowhead Invitational is the fifth major junior tournament of the 2008 WPGA junior season. It showcases the top players in the state and rewards them for playing well throughout the year. The Lake Arrowhead Invitational is sponsored by the Wisconsin PGA Junior Foundation and Lake Arrowhead GC.
