COLLEGE COMMITMENT
Edgerton golf standout Allyssa Ferrell has made a commitment to play golf at Michigan State in the fall of 2010.
Ferrell, a three-time WIAA state qualifier who on Friday starts her senior season at Edgerton High School, chose the Spartans over Eastern Michigan and Minnesota. The 2008 Wisconsin State Golf Association junior girls player of the year will join former Middleton golfer Lindsey Solberg in Michigan. Ferrell told the Wisconsin State Journal she wasn’t recruited “very hard” by the University of Wisconsin.
Ferrell has had a busy summer, competing in the U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links and U.S. Women’s Amateur, as well as the National Junior PGA Championship. In July, she finished second at the McArthur Towel & Sports Future Legends, an American Junior Golf Association event held at the Legend at Bergamont in Oregon.
