CHRYSLER CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP
Jonathan Fall and Susan Lee Kolbe are headed to the Chrysler Club Championship National Finals. The two on Monday won their respective divisions against men and women club champions from throughout Wisconsin and Illinois. The Midwest Regional was held at West Bend CC.
Fall, who recently won the Wisconsin State Golf Association Director’s Cup Championship, captured a one-stroke victory over Chip Summers of North Hills CC in Menomonee Falls. Fall, a member at Ozaukee CC in Mequon, carded four birdies on his way to a 1-under 71 and was the only player to break par. Summers, Jim Doing of Hawks Landing GC in Verona and Scott Ten Broeck of Beverly CC in Chicago all earned the right to join Fall and represent the Midwest at the national finals.
In the ladies division, Kolbe beat out her nearest competitor, Katie Falk of Milwaukee CC, by a four-stroke margin. Kolbe, who plays out of Brown Deer Park GC in Milwaukee, finished at 8-over 81. Joining Kolbe and Falk at the national finals will be Nancy Rushman of Oconomowoc CC and Jeanne Zeske of Naga-Waukee GC in Pewaukee.
The Chrysler Club Championship Midwest Regional is one of eight regional sites that featured 85 men and women club champions or runners-up. The national finals will be held from Dec. 10-14 in conjunction with the Merrill Lynch Shootout at the Ritz Carlton Golf Resort & Tiburon GC in Naples, Fla. The top male and female finisher will advance to compete in the 2009 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic.
