WSGA MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP
The 2009 Wisconsin State Golf Association Match Play Championship got underway Monday at Northern Bay Golf Resort in Arkdale, and Appleton’s Patrick Duffy was medalist in the stroke play qualifying round.
Duffy, who just finished his senior season at the University of Wisconsin and plays out of Appleton’s Butte des Morts CC, made seven birdies on the back nine to finish at 5-under-par 66. Keegan Drugan of Drugan’s Castle Mound CC in Holmen, Kelly Kretz of Riverview GC in Antigo and Todd Schaap of Ives Grove Golf Links in Sturtevant were runners-up, all shooting 68.
