Jordan Niebrugge of Mequon won the Cola-Cola Junior All-Star Championship in Harbor Springs, Mich., last week. The American Junior Golf Association tournament was held on The Moor course (par-72) at Boyne Highlands Resort.
Niebrugge shot 70-74-71–215 to win the boys title by two strokes over Chris Noble of Niles, Mich., who shot 74-74-69–217.
Other Wisconsin players in the field were Charlie Danielson of Osceola, who tied for 10th place (73-77-74–224); Nate Strigenz of Fond du Lac, who tied for 16th (74-78-75–227); and Matt Garrison of Reedsburg, who tied for 27th (80-79-74–233).
In the girls competition, Silvia Garces of Cali, Columbia, won by one stroke with scores of 77-74-75–226. Tied for second were Vivian Tsui of Markham, Ontario, (73-79-75–227) and Alexandra White of Haymarket, Va. (77-76-74–227).
The AJGA will visit Wisconsin this month. The McArthur Towel & Sports Future Legends will be held at the Legend at Bergamont in Oregon on July 14-17. The 54-hole AJGA tournament is open to girls and boys ages 12 through 18.
