ADVERTISE A GREAT STATE FOR GOLF
Wisconsinites love the natural beauty of their state.
They hunt, fish, hike, paddle, climb and run in
Wisconsin’s great outdoors, famous for its rolling
hills, clear lakes and majestic pine forests. And they
play golf. Do they ever play golf.
Wisconsin has more
than a million golfers in all, a number that annually
ranks the state at or near the top nationally in percentage
of population that plays the game. Fortunately, Wisconsin offers more than 500 golf courses to its avid players, from friendly nine-hole layouts to the
world-renowned Kohler courses at Blackwolf Run and Whistling Straits.
The
Wisconsin State Golf Association has served both the golf courses and the
individual golfers in the state for more than 100 years, offering a full schedule
of amateur tournaments for men, women and junior golfers, as well as official United States Golf
Association computerized handicaps for all its members.
The WSGA also takes great pride in its
bimonthly publication, Wisconsin Golfer, which celebrates all that makes golf in Wisconsin special.
The more than 60,000 members of the WSGA represent the peak of the pyramid of influence among
Wisconsin’s golfers. The list includes virtually every member of every private club in the state, plus
thousands of public links golfers who play the game with passion. Wisconsin Golfer has built its reputation on providing its readers the most complete and authoritative information on
courses, personalities, equipment, apparel and instruction,
as well as commentary from award-winning columnists,
and spectacular photos from some of the country’s
best-known golf photographers. It’s all part of what
makes Wisconsin a great state for golf.
