It’s official. Mark Reinemann of Delafield has been elected to the United States Golf Association Executive Committee.
Reinemann, 54, was nominated to join the 15-person committee, which includes USGA officers, last fall. Reinemann and the others were elected as a group at the USGA’s Annual Meeting Saturday in Houston.
Elected along with Reinemann was Glen D. Nager of Washington D.C., to a one-year term as the 62nd president of the USGA. Nager, an attorney and Houston native, will oversee the USGA’s 300-plus professional staff and nearly 1,200 volunteers.
When nominated for the Executive Committee last fall, Reinemann admitted he was excited about the possibility. Now, it has become reality.
“There is a process,” Reinemann said in October. “You really don’t know whether you’re going to be selected for nomination or not until pretty close to the time it has to be announced. I’m really excited, I’m really thrilled, and I think it will be terrific to have Wisconsin represented on the executive committee.”
Reinemann is vice president of global sales for ManpowerGroup in Milwaukee. He is a member of the Wisconsin State Golf Association board of directors and the USGA Regional Affairs Committee. Formerly, he was chairman of the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee.
Reinemann also served on the 2011 U.S. Amateur Championship Committee. He is a member at Blue Mound G&CC in Wauwatosa, which co-hosted the U.S. Amateur Championship along with Erin Hills in Erin.
Reinemann is the fifth Wisconsin resident to serve on the USGA Executive Committee.
