Rolling Meadows is a popular 27-hole golf facility on the west side of Fond du Lac, just of U.S. Highway 41. The first 18 holes opened in 1972, and a nine-hole addition opened for play in 1996.The holes are numbered 1 through 27, so Nos. 1-9 comprise the front nine, Nos. 10-18 the middle nine and Nos. 19-27 the back nine.

If there’s a common theme to all three, it has to be water. The three nines are intermingled with a network of creeks and ponds, and the 240-property also includes a 10-acre wetland.Rolling Meadows identifies No. 27, the par-4 finishing hole on the back nine, as the club’s signature hole. Measuring a difficult 467 yards from the back (Black) tee, and 210 yards from the front (Yellow) tee, No. 27 sweeps gently from left to right and features water all the way down the right side. Bunkers and mounding dot the left side of the fairway.Long hitters have the option on No. 27 to cut off some distance by taking an aggressive line over the edge of the water hazard.

There are six sets of tees, so all players can find some challenges here. That includes Wisconsin’s very best, as Rolling Meadows has hosted various state competitions, including the 2002 Wisconsin State Golf Association Bestball Championship.Rolling Meadows is a municipal facility owned by Fond du Lac County.
