The low qualifiers of the day were amateur Miles McConnell of Fitchburg, who recorded a 7-under-par 65 at the Bishops Bay CC qualifier in Middleton and Andrew Barrett of Brown Deer, who also finished with a score of 65 at the Hartford GC qualifier.

At the La Crosse CC qualifier, Joe DeRosa of La Crosse was the top qualifier at 1-under 71. At Minocqua’s Timber Ridge GC, Kelly Kretz of Antigo, who recently placed third in the Wisconsin State Amateur, was the top qualifier at 1-under 71. Amateur Craig Cerbins of Berlin finished at 1-over 72 to lead the Oshkosh CC qualifier, and amateur Michael Masik lead the Janesville CC qualifier with an even-par 72.

The 2008 Wisconsin State Open will be held at Eau Claire G&CC in Altoona. The tournament will consist of a 156-player field, and the format is 72-hole stroke play. A 36-hole cut will be made following the second round, and the low 60 and ties will move on. Dan Woltman of Beaver Dam is the defending champion.

The final qualifier will be held on Wednesday at Fire Ridge GC in Grafton.
